Teachers' Seminar
We are very excited about this addition to the day - a Teachers' Seminar. The session will be led by Helena Gaunt, oboist and Assistant Principal (Research and Academic Development) at the Guildhall School and William Ring (Howarth of London) and will be a session for teachers reviewing double reed teaching practice in the UK, and what's happening to promote oboe and bassoon playing especially in the primary age group.
This follows on from recent meeting between various interested parties in the double reed world looking at the legacy of Endangered Species in the UK, including a very successful 'Junior Day' at the recent IDRS convention in Birmingham.
This does promise to be a fascinating session - a must for all specialist and non-specialist double reed teachers.
